Attracting Millennial & GenZ Employees (General Managers & Managers)

We’re going to do a little time travel, fast forwarding to the next decade. Sounds like a long way away, but let’s face it, it’s only a few short years from today. We will challenge management teams to think about the future needs of their customer and the teams that they will be managing.

10:45 - 12:15 - Embracing Digital Sales

Embracing Digital Sales (General Managers, Sales Managers & Sellers)

In addition to your role as a media account manager… you must become an absolute champion of both traditional and digital media. And that’s going to require you to set aside all of your pre-conceived media biases. You are no longer a Radio or TV rep, because you my friend are a brand and marketing specialist! Whether it’s digital or traditional media, the process of building a brand is the same. Embracing this is your first step toward success.

Noon - Luncheon

1:15 - 2:15 - Legal/NAB Issues Update with David Oxenford & Grisella Martinez

2:30 - 3:30 - Music Licensing Fees - Janet Hugh/Bill Velez

The Radio Music License Committee (RMLC) and the Television Music License Committee (TVMLC) represent local radio and TV stations in their negotiations with performing rights organizations (PROs) such as ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.  Local Radio and TV broadcasters pay hundreds of millions of dollars annually to these societies.  From negotiations of license agreements to litigation with existing and new PROs, the RMLC and TVMLC strive to maintain reasonable music performance license fees on behalf of the Radio and TV industry.  Bill Velez, RMLC’s Executive Director, and Janet McHugh, TVMLC’s Executive Director will answer your frequently asked questions about music licensing in the broadcasting industry - Who decides what my station pays for music performances licenses?  How can I save money?  Will my fees be going up?  What’s going on with GMR?  They will also update you on the status of the ASCAP and BMI consent decrees and happenings in Washington DC related to music licensing.  Join us to learn more!
